In addition to entering descriptions for each LayerComp, UXmockup allows you to add annotations directly to your design mockups by placing markers onto the canvas area. Annotations are a great way to add granular details about your design and draw attention directly to the area in question.

Adding annotations to your design is done via the Comments Editor. To begin, make sure the desired LayerComp is active and then double-click anywhere within the highlighted row.

There are only 2 ways to add annotations to your design mockups — the first method is using the Comments Editor. The second method to enter annotations is through the Preflight environment which is covered in a separate tutorial.

Clicking the “Add annotation …” button adds an annotation text block below your LayerComps description.

By default, all newly created annotations have their corresponding marker placed at the centre of your canvas.

To position your marker, simply drag the red marker to its final location on your canvas.
Markers placed on the canvas by the Comment Editor are only visible while the Comment Editor is open.A
After placing your marker and entering your annotation, click OK to accept the changes.

And that’s how you add annotations to your design! Need more than 1 annotation? No problem, add, place and annotate as many markers as required for each LayerComp. Once the Comments Editor is closed there is little to suggest that anything was done. UXmockup does not affect the states of your LayerComps so there’s nothing to sync.
