Giving your CompSet a new name is not unlike renaming a LayerComp or asset layer in the Layers panel.

A

Renaming your CompSet title happens in the UXmockup Comment Editor. To launch the Comment Editor, simply double-click anywhere within the highlighted row.

02

Unlike Photoshop, UXmockup does not allow CompSets to be renamed directly. Instead, double-clicking a row launches the Comments Editor where you can rename the title of the CompSet.

A

The Comments Editor automatically highlights the title of your CompSet or LayerComp if no user-defined title exists.

03

Once a new title is entered, designers can optionally choose to describe the CompSet. For example, If your CompSet contains a series of LayerComps which concentrate on a shopping cart experience then provide a high-level description of that experience.

A

UXmockup will use the titles and descriptions you have provided for your CompSets and LayerComps to generate your horizontal prototypes, slideshows, tutorials and documents.

B

Once the title and description for the CompSet are entered, click the OK button to return to the CompSet View panel.

04

The CompSet title and notepad icon are now updated.

A

Whenever a description is added for a CompSet, or LayerComp, a solid notepad icon appears at the end of the row. This is your confirmation that you’ve provided a description for this artboard.

05

The old adage “a picture is worth a thousand words” doesn’t apply when documenting your progress. As the designer, you are the leading expert in describing your own work. However, once you share that work as a horizontal prototype, slideshow or document it’s highly unlikely you’ll be available in person to describe your work to the recipient. The Comment Editor provides you the means to perform narrative documentation directly in Photoshop while the concepts are fresh in your mind.
